Murphy’s totalhealth Pharmacy, Ennistymon got in on the excitement of the Irish Open Golf tournament in Lahinch recently by entering and winning the best dressed window competition that was run as part of event. Their entry featured all things golf and a customer competition to guess how any golf balls were in the suitcase!
Niamh & Lorraine represented Murphy’s totalhealth Pharmacy at the prize winner’s podium where they were presented with a fabulous cheque for €1,500 from Colm McLoughlin, CEO of Dubai Duty Free. The ladies got to enjoy the excitement of this wonderful event coming to Lahinch and were treated to a lovely day out.
What a wonderful day for Jacqueline O'Donnell and her fabulous team at O'Donnells totalhealth Pharmacy, Shankill as they celebrated their Grand Opening recently. Surrounded by fantastic customers, friends and family, the pharmacy was buzzing with excitement.
O’Donnell’s totalhealth Pharmacy has had a full refit and had new branding applied inside and outside. The new look pharmacy is stunning. Jacqueline O’Donnell and her team in Shankill Shopping Centre have had a long road waiting for re-development of the shopping centre. Thankfully that is all behind them now as the new anchor supermarket, Lidl also has their official opening on the same day, June 13th.
Jacqueline was joined by her friend Karl Henry from Operation Transformation and the girls from Shankill GAA Club sporting their jerseys sponsored by O’Donnell’s to cut the ribbon.

Totalhealth Pharmacy group are delighted to be the official partners and sponsors of the Connacht Rugby Summer Camps. In total 19 camps will be held across Connacht over the summer months. The summer camps start the first week of July and continue to mid-August.
The Summer Camps, which are run by fully accredited IRFU coaches, are open to boys and girls between the ages of 6-12 and no prior rugby experience is necessary. Children get to experience the sport in a fun, safe environment, while developing the basic rugby skills while making new friends and, most importantly, having fun.

Totalhealth Pharmacy was privileged to be part of the beautiful day that was the 5th Annual Ladies Luncheon for May Roscommon Hospice. The room was packed with 200 ladies who had an incredible positive vibe, with a generous spirit supporting the work of the Hospice.
Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice expressed her gratitude to so many who made the event such a success, in particular the major sponsors KCI Acelity and totalhealth Pharmacy Group. We were treated to a fabulous fashion show showcasing designs from Vivienne O’Connor and Milliner Laura O’Hanlon with models from Catwalk Modelling Agency. After lunch entertainment was by the ever witty and extremely personable Pauline McLynn. The afternoon was rounded off by that ever talented duo Sean Costello and Frank Naughton!

This means that totalhealth staff who register to do the training can access the training from the convenience of a laptop, tablet or phone, no more travelling to training locations.
The totalhealth Awards night was an ideal opportunity to present certificates of completion to the most recent graduates. Staff completed training programmes including Medicine Counter Assistant, Vitamins & Natural Remedies and First Aid.
The 4th totalhealth Pharmacy Awards took place on Sunday 5th May in the Hodson Bay Hotel, Athlone. The event was attended by 270 members and partners of Ireland’s largest co-operative pharmacy group. Dáithí Ó Sé, RTE personality and Rose of Tralee host, returned to host this year’s celebration of the achievements of totalhealth pharmacies and their team members.
The event included the chance for one attendee to win a donation to their favourite charity from the proceeds of a Charity Raffle. Mary Gurren from Curley’s totalhealth Pharmacy, Ballyhaunis, had the golden ticket and chose to donate the €1,800 prize to Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation. The charity exists to provide palliative care services to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families in County Mayo and County Roscommon.
Mary explained why she chose this particular charity: ‘This is an issue that has or is going to affect every one of us at some point. Those working in palliative care do something very special and very important. I’m delighted to be able to help them!’

Darragh Murray (Buccaneers/ Coláiste Ciarán) was the overall winner of the U18 Player of the Year Award.
The sponsorship of the Award was the culmination of a great year partnering with Connacht Rugby supporting their youth programme. When Noelle Lynskey from Hayes & Hayes totalhealth Pharmacy, Portumna heard that 21 year old Sinéad Keon also known as the ‘Pocket Rocket’ from Kyelbrack near Woodford was looking for a sponsor to help her compete in the IWAS (International Wheelchair & Amputee Sport) World Games in the United Arab Emirates in February 2019, she contacted her colleagues in Loughrea and Ballinasloe with a view to jointly sponsoring Sinéad. Jack Staunton from Brogan’s totalhealth Pharmacy, Loughrea and Niamh Murphy from Murphy’s totalhealth Medical Hall, Ballinasloe were only too happy to join with Noelle in supporting the wonderful Sinéad.
Sinéad is always keen to put in a good performance and push herself hard. Born with achondroplasia – a congenital condition affecting bone growth – she was inspired to take up Para athletics after the London 2012 Paralympic Games. Her ascent to notoriety has been swift; in the same year she was named Best Newcomer of the Year by the Irish Wheelchair Association Sport.
2018 was a busy season for the Galway athlete who competed in eight home games, and two International Wheelchair and Amputee Sports Federation (IWAS) World Games in Portugal and Athlone. The highlight of the year came in Athlone in July when Sinead recorded a new Irish and European javelin record – with a 16.85 metres throw. She has represented Ireland at seven World Games and won gold medals at discus and shot putt, three silver medals in javelin and two bronze in shot putt. She is a two-times World table tennis champion and has won countless medals at Irish and UK National competitions. The sporting achievements of Sinead, who has a form of dwarfism, are numerous and have been recognised by the Irish Grand Prix Awards.

Ray D’Arcy visited Portumna, Co. Galway, over the hot summer months as part of his tour of Ireland’s “Hidden Heartlands” with Fáilte Ireland.

Curley’s totalhealth Pharmacy, Ballyhaunis were the lucky
recipients of the proceeds from the Charity Raffle at the
totalhealth Pharmacy Gala Ball & Awards Night in Galway
recently. The Awards Night included a charity fundraiser
whereby the winner got to keep all the funds raised and
donate to the charity of their choice.
Rosaleen Curley was the lucky winner of the €2,000 raised
on the night. Rosaleen decided to donate the money to three
charities close to her heart, €1,000 to Croí, the West of Ireland
Cardiac Foundation, €500 to Western Care Association
(Ballyhaunis) and €500 to the Mayo Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Ballyhaunis).
The totalhealth Pharmacy Group held their annual Gala Ball & Pharmacy Awards Ceremony in the in the Radisson Blu Hotel Galway. The celebratory event was attended by over 300 pharmacists, staff and employees of the totalhealth Pharmacy group nationwide along with industry partners.

Galway totalhealth Pharmacies, Flanagan’s, Pat Hogan’s and Feely’s in Tuam were delighted recently to donate three fabulous First Aid Kits to Eleanor Burke, a fourth year medical student from NUIG and her colleagues who are heading off to work in Mpongwe Mission Hospital in Zambia this summer. The volunteer mission is part of the work they organise as part of the Voluntary Services Abroad Society in NUIG.
UL Student wins €1,000 at Ann Gray’s totalhealth Pharmacy Aoife Keating a third year student at the University of Limerick was the overall winner of the student competition at Ann Gray’s totalhealth Pharmacy in Castletroy. Since September every student who shopped in the pharmacy and scanned their VIP loyalty card at the point of purchase were automatically entered into a draw. The monthly prizes were €50 vouchers for the UL Sports Arena and the overall prize was a €1,000 voucher. Aoife Keating was delighted to be selected as the overall winner.

Jonathan McGuire, Pharmacist at Mark Wright totalhealth
Pharmacy, Tyrrellspass, Co. Westmeath, recently participated
in a charity fundraiser at the Punchestown Irish National Hunt
Festival in aid of Punchestown Kidney Research Fund and the
Irish Kidney Association.
Over the past 27 years the PKRF has raised €1.4 million in funds.
This money has been used to improve the quality of life of patients
on dialysis, support medical research projects that help people with
the disease and increase organ donor awareness.

Some very active members of An Garda Síochána took part in a
recent charity cycle in aid of Capuchin Day Centre for the Homeless in Dublin.
The Garda Cycle team were part of a cycle that started in Dublin and ended in Belmullet. Reilly’s totalhealth Pharmacy in Belmullet were more than happy to support them and their worthy cause.

For the month of October totalhealth Pharmacies were involved in the Paint it Pink campaign for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. An amazing €30,000 was rasied for the Irish Cancer Society.
The brilliant ideas people ran with to raise funds were fantastic, from bake sales to nail painting.
It was a very impressive achievement from all totalhealth pharmacies who went out of their way to raise as much as possible for this worthy charity.
